Sahara Aalhad (Pune, India), NGO registered in 1985, has been providing multi-layered services to the extremely marginalised populations affected by HIV/AIDS, TB and drug use in Central Region of India. Sahara works with female drug users and HIV positive women, to promote their health and well-being and empower them. The core programs are focused on linking these women with HIV and TB services, organizing health camps, mobile clinics, promoting community testing and running a care home. It focusses on financial empowerment of WWUDs and HIV positive women through micro-pension schemes and income generation projects (IGP). In 2016-2017 Sahara’s team managed Project PANKH (stands for WINGS in Marathi language) in Pune and Pimpri in Maharashtra State of India, providing services to 48 women.
