Assel Terlikbayeva (Kazakhstan, Assel.Terlikbayeva@ghrcca.org ) Ms Assel Terlikbayeva is the Regional Director of the Global Health Research Center of Central Asia (GHRCCA) in Kazakhstan since 2007. Her research interests have focused on behavioral interventions related to HIV, TB, STIs, substance use and mental health in Central Asia. Currently, she is leading three large RO1s in Kazakhstan focusing on linkage to HIV care and improving HIV treatment outcomes among three key population groups: injection drug users, sex workers, and men who have sex with men (MSM).
Sholpan Primbetova (Kazakhstan, Sholpan.Primbetova@ghrcca.org ) is a Deputy Regional Director for Columbia University Global Health Research Center of Central Asia which develops and advances evidence-based, sustainable solutions to emerging public health and social issues in the Central Asia region. Sholpan holds a Master degree in Social Work from the Columbia University; she also has qualifications and degrees in Pharmacy, Finance, and Jurisprudence. Sholpan was awarded by the US. Department of State scholarship for the International Visitors Leadership Program in 2007, by the Open Society Institutions for a Master program at Columbia University in 2007, and had been classified as one of the most outstanding Kazakhstan alumni graduated from a university in the US in 2017.
